“As an occasional painter I get most pleasure from art that exudes the raw emotional energy that created it, art made with a series of seemingly haphazard brush marks and colours selected by emotion. My inspiration is drawn mostly from the extremes of weather, sea, and the unique landscape offered by my immediate surroundings, the South Downs and the coast”.
“I am influenced by Fauvism, Expressionists and Abstract Expressionists. Artists I like include Pierre Bonnard, Ivon Hitchens, David Bomberg, Joan Mitchell, Joan Eardley and Jeffery Camp”.
